Beau Tardy is a Paris-born American artist known for his work across multiple mediums, including paintings, pop art, street art, digital art, and media art. His artistic style often blends elements of pop art, post-punk, and electronic influences, as seen in collections like "LaPopSexTVArtShow" and "ELECTRONISM."
He attended Parsons School of Design and attended the first ever computer graphics class given there. He became involved in the East Village art scene getting his work published in the seminal East Village Eye and participating in group shows with artists Gary Panter and Wayne White. After dropping out of art school and moving to Paris he joined art collective Mano-Mano to do street art, graffiti, billboard subversion and art performances. Beginning in 1987, he became increasingly involved in electronic imagery, digital art, video and television, garnering a French Ministry of Culture art grant for his 'ELECTRONISM' project.
During the 90s he was hired by the on-air graphics department at MTV where he animated graphics and show opens for MTV News, Yo! MTV Raps and The Real World. Beau founded Dizzy Worldwide, a motion design and content creation studio whose clients are major cable TV networks and advertising agencies. Dizzy Worldwide has won many industry awards including Gold BDA, Silver Telly Award & Communicator Award of Distinction.
Tardy creates original works such as acrylic paintings, spray paint and stencil pieces, digital art, comics and video installations. His work explores themes like the convergence of art and technology, often questioning perception (e.g., "Is it real or is it Memorex?") His work appeals to collectors seeking unique, technology-infused art, often with a bold, contemporary edge.
He is active in the NFT space, minting unique digital artworks (1/1 editions) on platforms like Mintable.com, Opensea, HicetNunc.art, and Objkt.com. His "ELECTRONISM" collection features lush electronic art designed for display on digital devices, with each piece authenticated on the blockchain. He has also offered giveaways and prizes, such as an original painting titled "HIGH" for NFT owners.
Tardy has presented new paintings, drawings, video installations, and a book at Barrister's Gallery for the "Paris, America" group show, alongside French and Australian artists. His work has been featured at Hardy & Nance Studios, Box 13 Artspace as well as galleries in Sydney, Australia, New York City and Paris, France.
Paintings and prints are available for purchase. Beyond art, he offers affordable merchandise like stickers for skate wear company Failed to Dress and an 11-ounce ceramic "Swish" coffee mug with original digital designs, available through his online shop at beautardyartist.com.
